Not many people do know about the Baltic State Latvia a small state of only 24,939 sq miles that it is a unitary parliamentary republic with the capital city of Riga; it is one of the least populated countries within the European Union. It was until 1991 a part of Russia and the Russian official handed over the state to Latvian rulers in 1994.

It is a country that by the UN as well by Human Rights groups is accused of blatant discrimination and Human right violations by not allowing the part of the original Russian population in Latvia to vote. Therewith breaking the UN rules and deliberate discriminates against its own citizen who have to pay their taxes and do their duties but are not allowed to vote, although they are Latvian citizen. Although they do not allow tax payers to vote the government had no problems to ask bail out money due to grossly overspending at the rate of 4000 per head of the population.

It is also a State that still celebrates the Nazi's and had their own Latvian Legion of the Waffen SS supporting Hitler. They still yearly remember the SS and the Nazi's. Strange enough Latvia is in facto an artificial state, a state that never was. The area was occupied by Baltic tribes such a 2500 years ago. Around the year 1000 the area was home to the Kursi, the latgali, the seli and the zemgali. Later a small tribe called the Libiesi joined the area.

It took to the 12th century before the first Christian missionaries entered the area, but the people did not convert easily. Therefore the German states did send in the German crusaders who as was the normal way of spreading Christianity to do it by sword and by fire. That did the trick and has as a result that the Terra Mariana (the crusader state) was installed. It became part of the Hansa trade league and the village of Riga established itself as a city of importance. The Livonian war in 1583 divided the area between Poland and Lithuanian rule, while the northern part was called the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The duchy was a vassal of the Polish state.

In the 17th and 18th century the area was changed many times during the polish/Russian/Lithuanian/Swedish wars It was in this time that the area that is now known a Latvia but that in that time was still part of Poland/Estonia/Lithuania/Sweden/Germany and Russia adopted Lutheranism as their main religion. The surrounding countries abided by the Catholic religion. It need to be stressed that there was no Latvian State proclamated or proposed in that time nor was there any land or borders indicating a Latvia enclave and that in fact the area now called Latvia belonged to several Baltic tribes.

It was Peter the Great and his policies followed by the plague that decimated the area's population to half that started the change. The treaty of Nystad between the German Barons and Peter the Great created the area as well the Lithuania and the Estonia area into part of the Prussian state. All the right of the peasantry was taken away and they were forced like slaves to work up to 5 days every week for the landowners. It was during the 19th century that the first improvements arrived in the Baltic States. However, it took to the middle of that century before the first movements would see an attempt that would create the Latvian state. The Jaunlatviesi movement laid the foundations for the State by gathering support from Russia and Poland against the German rulers. That created the uprising in 1863 and would form the jump to a Latvian state by 1880, which lasted till 1905. The area of the would be Latvian State, was devastated by WW1 when the Prussian Barons attempted to regain their property.

The Germans lost the end of WW! was near and the Russian revolution in 1917 led to the demands for self determination, it led to a power vacuum and the Peoples council of Latvia declared their independence along the lines of the former Barony landowners borders. It was again short livid as two years later there were three Latvian states, the original, the Russian and the German one due to the treaty made between Germany/Russia and the Allied forces.

The Estonian and Latvian fighters forced the Germans and the Polish out and in 1922 there was a liberal constitution, this was suspended in 1936 and only re-instated in 1990. The Russians who made from the Latvian area an industrial power base in fact created unknowingly the State of Latvia. In 1944 the Russian army reached the by the Germans and Latvians the heavily defended Latvian area were devastating fighting found place with many of the Latvian fighting on site of the Germans, or belonging to the Latvian Waffen group SS, others of Russian origin were fighting on the Russian site.

The forming of the European Union and the Perestroika in Russia gave the Latvian yet another change to be an in depended state. Large chunks of help plus guaranties of the USA made it possible for Latvia, after the Supreme Soviet of Russia said that the occupation of the Baltic States was not in accordance with the law, to call out there in depended state on the 3rd of March 1991.

Independency however was only for the Latvian residents as the original Russians with the Latvian nationality had no right to vote even if they were longer than 50 years in the country and had the Latvian nationality. Therefore there is no universal citizenship for all Latvians.

This State is a part of the European Union and the NATO, a state who with permission of the European Union and the United State discriminate against his own citizen. This state glorifies the Nazi's and celebrate the Latvian Legion of the waffen SS, one of the most deadly army groups in the German army in WW2 and the destroyer of Jews in large quantities a fact that is acknowledge and allowed by the European Union and the United States. It is called a friend by State of Israel, who has suddenly no objections against one of the deathliest parts of the Hitler army in a NATO state, the same Israel that objects and hunt down minor members of the Hitler army for their actions against Jews. The double standards by the EU, by the US and by Israel are absolute astonishing. It points out rather obvious that if it brings money or other benefits in it suddenly does not the matter of one killed the Jews during the Hitler period. It at the same time a country that discriminate against Russians as that is to the benefit of the USA ands suits the dictatorial rulers of Latvia.

However in Latvia, a state created out of the abandoned Baronies of Prussia, does not allow all the people of their country to vote, only the ones who are supporting the extremes of the Latvian government are allowed to vote. The signs however, are that the people of Latvia have enough from that kind of pressure and it seems that if they get the chance they will vote against this regime a vote swing to a side the government does not want.

If so it will be the support of Europe and the USA that will decide of the swing is allowed or simple are declared void. Latvia as a state is only there because of the support of the USA and Europe. Man can doubt of it should have been there in the first place as large part always have belonged to either Lithuania or Estonia.
